The 9th Annual CHDS/UAPI Homeland Defense and Security Education Summit was held in Orlando, Florida, 25-26 September. CHDS/UAPI partnered with Valencia College for the two-day Summit. The theme of this year’s event: Evolving Homeland Security to meet Future Threats/Hazards.

Presentations from the 2015 Summit

The Summit serves to bring together academic, practitioner, government and private sector communities to discuss key issues facing local, state and national homeland security, homeland defense and emergency management. The 2015 event  included plenary sessions featuring national and international leaders in homeland security, as well as tracked presentations (see below) by subject matter experts in focus areas under the overall Summit theme.

As we consider Evolving Homeland Security to meet Future Threats/Hazards, the 2015 Summit featured research presentation tracks in the following areas:

  • Climate Disruption, Disaster Management, and Resource Scarcity
  • Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Civil Liberties
  • Terrorism: Trends and Challenges
  • Leadership in Homeland Security
